
The COVID-19 pandemic has affected college studentsâ€� basic needs, financial security, academic success, caregiving responsibilities, mental health, and more. Using data from the Trellis Fall 2020 °ëµºÌåÓý Financial Wellness Survey (SFWS), Trellis researchers found that 53 percent of surveyed students (n=20,095) at 62 two- and four-year colleges and universities indicated one or more forms of basic needs insecurity (BNI) at time of administration. This brief, recently published in the , examines data from these students with a special lens on their mental health, familial responsibilities and finances, employment, and financial security.
